STAHP. Those are NOT the same warnings being repeated. I’ve had to herd my family into an interior closet TWICE in tha past hour and a half. There are currently THREE “areas of rotation” just east and north of us.
Looks like a tornado might have touched down about 1.5 miles away and then went on north of us. I’ve had three friends today with close calls with tornados (all in different parts of the county). It would be REALLY NICE if I didn’t stay up all night like last night with my phone going off with constant alerts.
Fuckin’ A, man.
Oh, and my phone just went off with ANOTHER FUCKING TORNADO WARNING.

I’m trying to, but Harvey has other plans, apparently.

Just get in that closet and go to sleep.

Yep, this is what NWS has active for me, and it wasn’t even raining most of the day. Of course my phone doesn’t seem interested in issuing these, which is nice that it’s not buzzing everywhere, but it would be good to get tornado warnings and such.
Stay safe!

Yeah, but then my kids will be sucked out by the tornado.

Houston is about to be underwater. This line of storms is going to dump a TON of rain.

We played this game last night. 830PM-530AM in a half bath w/wife, kiddo, and two cats. New Tornado Warning every 30min, sometimes overlapping. We had a few this evening as well. I still haven’t slept since Thursday evening, just some sub-15min cat naps. At some point I plan to actually rest. Maybe.

I assumed you’d take them too. You do have shelves in that closet?

I guess we can put them on the shelves...

You probably know this already but it looks like a tornado passed through Texas Pkwy in Mo City.
That was scary for while. We had dinner cooking when the warning went off, so we ended up eating dinner in the bathroom, waiting it out.

Yup. I called a friend who lives in Quail Valley to make sure she was okay. It scared the crap out of her, especially after what happened in Sienna.
Glad y’all are okay.

My friend from the woodlands just arrived up here in Iowa for school, and her family that came with her to drop her off are now staying for a bit because of the issues associated with returning.

I’m not watching the news, so I definitely am unaware if there are any flooded areas around here. Couple cousins driving home seeing bayous getting ready to overflow if it keeps raining. Obviously went underpass is flooded by now but being this far north even my street has not started flooding yet like it did in previous years’ flash flood rains.

Damn good idea. This rain and flooding is going to get stupid. Actually, it already has.

A buddy of mine and his wife live in Brookshire, they had a narrow miss with a tornado yesterday.
Speaking of which, just got a fresh tornado warning. Shit.

A tornado warning was sent out with my house on the starting line of the warning. I’m currently under ANOTHER tornado warning due to rotation to the south headed this way.
I’m getting callouses towards these tornado warnings.

That’s wild. I just drove out and about my area and the bayous are pretty much borderline capacity, then rapidly receding when the rain slows down. Have yet to see any flooding more than small streets.

Hope you made it. Shit’s a mess out here, but we came through. House came close to flooding. No real sleep for days. Fun.

I read your comment, looked up, and saw the first blue sky that I’ve seen for days.
I also think I caught a C-17 Globemaster III. Definitely a big ass military transport.
We’ve made it out unscathed. All this morning, we’ve been buzzed by military helicopters conducting rescue missions in several of the neighborhoods around us. The sounds of the airboats rescuing people have been audible from my living room for two days. I tried to help them yesterday, but couldn’t find anyone with a large-enough truck to get out of the neighborhood (the major streets have all been flooded around us and my CTS can’t get through).
And now the sun is out now. I’m praying for everyone that are still in trouble. And the Brazos hasn’t stopped rising yet, either.

Good to hear your’re in good shape. Blue sky outside is real nice after the last few days. Brazos should crest today, but the results of it doing so are going to be unfortunate.

It’ll top out on Friday at 57.5', which is almost three feet higher than last year’s shit-your-pants level that we hit. I’m going to try and find someone with a flat bottom boat that wants to help people in the neighborhoods.
I’ll need a ride in a tall truck, though. That was my problem yesterday.
